Evangelii Gaudium Centre
The Evangelii Gaudium Centre (CEG) is a training, study and research body established in the Sophia University Institute (IUS) [link] in Loppiano. The name derives from the Apostolic Exhortation Evangelii gaudium that Pope Francis has indicated as his pastoral programme and, as such, aims to contribute to the ecclesial mission of making humanity one family.
Founded in 2016, over the years, the CEG has organized training courses for pastoral workers, for seminary formators, on leadership, on various issues related to the abuse of authority and many other events. Since 2022 it has been involved, in collaboration with the General Secretariat of the Synod, in supporting the synodal process in which the whole Church is engaged. A multilingual, multicultural and interactive training course on synodality is ongoing. The CEG also organizes seminars and workshops on synodality and is developing networks at a global level to introduce synodality in the various areas of society.
