Where we are
In the world
Worldwide, the Focolare Movement, present in 182 countries, is organised in 15 geographical areas.
The Little towns of the Movement, currently 25, have different physiognomies to fit into different cultural contexts. The first one was established in 1964 in Loppiano, Italy, while the latest one is in Korea and is in the process of being built. They are small city models, workshops in which the spirituality of unity and lived fraternity can transform all areas of social life.
In addition, there are 16 publishing houses in different countries and 32 editions in 21 languages of the ‘New City’ magazine.

Little towns
Chiara Lubich, in 1962 in Switzerland, admiring the Benedictine abbey of Einsiedeln, sensed that Citadels would also arise from the spirituality of unity, which would have the main elements of a modern city with houses, church, shops, industries, schools. In them one tries to live the Gospel: prayer, work, study and other concrete aspects of life are taken care of.
Distinctions of religion, culture and traditions are not annulled, but are valued as a means of encounter with each neighbour.
